Referrals Clerk / Medical Assistant (Float)

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Status: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Referrals Clerk / Medical Assistant (Float) supports both administrative and clinical operations by processing referrals and authorizations, assisting providers with patient care, and providing coverage at various clinic locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Process patient referrals and obtain insurance authorizations.
• Schedule appointments with specialists and diagnostic facilities.
• Maintain accurate referral documentation in the EHR.
• Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status.
• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and document patient information.
• Assist providers during patient visits and perform basic clinical duties within scope of practice.
• Float between clinic locations and support departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical office, referrals, or clinical setting.
• Knowledge of insurance authorization processes and medical terminology.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between clinic locations.
